Pork arayes (Lebanese meat stuffed pitas)
Ingredients

 

  • 600g pork mince
  • 1 tsp crushed garlic
  • ½ onion, finely diced
  • ½ onion, finely diced
  • 1 tbsp pomegranate molasses
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp sweet paprika
  • ½ tsp ground coriander
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp cracked black pepper
  • 80g feta, crumbled
  • ½ pomegranate, seeds removed
  • 4 pita pockets, approx 16 cm diameter
Method

 

  1. In mixing bowl combine pork, garlic, onion, spices and pomegranate seeds, mix well.
  2. Divide mixture into eight portions.
  3. Cut each pita bread in half.
  4. Gently open the pita pockets and press one portion of pork mixture into each pita bread pocket.
