APL was pleased to attend and present at the WA Pork Producers Association (WAPPA) Industry Day and Dinner, held Friday 30 August in Perth, Western Australia. 

Attendees heard from a range of speakers including representatives from Centrewest Insurance on the changes to workers compensation law and research updates by Dr John Pluske.   

Further presentations from Angie Dent on her passion for pig farming, Jemma Read who gave insights into her US trip with the APL pork leadership course (PLC), and APL's Jessica Wallace who provided an industry update. 

APL's John McGoverne provided a review of the National Indoor and Outdoor Piggery Environmental Guidelines. The scope of the review covered current scientific knowledge and best practice, review of regulatory requirements, recommended tools referenced in the documents and science that may require updating. 

Special thanks to the WAPPA committee, it was a great day and evening supporting WA producers and industry to connect and celebrate.
