APL’s Animal Health Stewardship Manager, Dr Raymond Chia, was flying the flag for the pork industry at last week’s On-Farm Biosecurity Summit in Queensland.

Hosted by AgForce Queensland and the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, Dr Chia was an industry panel member at the event that brought together peak industry bodies to discuss how best to encourage the uptake of good biosecurity practices and planning.

It was a great opportunity to highlight the pork industry’s biosecurity preparedness efforts for emergency animal diseases, such as African swine fever (ASF), and discuss our recent experience with Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV).

The Summit provided an opportunity to identify the many biosecurity risks facing agriculture, and the good working relationships we have with stakeholders, industry Veterinarians and regulators.
