On Friday 25 August, APL joined the Australian Meat Industry Council for the Smallgoods Industry Summit and 2023 Charcuterie Excellence Awards hosted in Melbourne.

The Summit was a great opportunity for Aussie smallgoods producers to get together and hear from industry leaders about the latest issues affecting the industry — including workforce shortages, sustainability, nutrition, innovation, trade and more.

Guest speakers from APL also presented updates on biosecurity and the state of the Australian pork industry.

The day closed with the Gala Awards Dinner, where the winners of the 2023 Australian Charcuterie Excellence Awards were announced.

328 Gold, 187 Silver and 96 Bronze medals were handed out on the night, with Aussie pork dominating among the winning entries. All Gold winners made with Australian Pork will get the opportunity to represent Australia at the World IFFA Quality Competition

APL would like to congratulate to all of this year's Aussie pork winners — we look forward to seeing you compete on the global stage at the World IFFA and enjoying your products on shelves.
