APL was pleased to support Pork SA’s annual Pig Industry Day held on Friday 18 August in Tanunda, South Australia.

The event was a great success, drawing over 125 registrants from across industry —representing about 65% of the state's production.

Participants came together to hear practical presentations covering biosecurity and seasonal infertility, as well as updates from APL on marketing outlook and strategy.

The program also included a major focus on people and human resource management. Ben Reeve from Meridian Agriculture spoke to the group about developing effective teams through management and leadership, and Carlyn Sherriff from Pinion Advisory outlined practical strategies for family farms to boost human resource outcomes.

Pork SA and APL were joined by the Australasian Pork Research Institute Limited (APRIL), Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA), and South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) in the delivery of the event.
