APL attended the Australian Intercollegiate Meat Judging Association's (ICMJ) 2023 Conference hosted at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga this week.  

Running from Tuesday 4 to Saturday 8 July, the conference featured industry guest speakers, interactive workshops, a careers expo and an awards presentation dinner.  

CSU Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research, Professor Mark Evans officially opened the conference on Tuesday, welcoming 130 students and young industry participants to the four-day event. Pork highlights included:  

  • A presentation from Natalie Bell from Rivalea  

  • Pork carcass utilisation workshop presented by Shannon Walker  

  • Pork lunch sponsored by APL  

  • Careers Expo 

As a Principal Partner of the event, members of APL's Producer Relations Team were in attendance to discuss all things pork – highlighting the career pathways available to students.
