[updated] China: Consultations on Draft Ractopamine-free Assurance Scheme
In support of our request for market access for exports to mainland China, APL has been working on programs to ensure our industry will meet China’s strict import requirements. One of these is a zero tolerance of pigs fed ractopamine, so we have developed a ractopamine-free assurance scheme for industry consideration. APL will be consulting with the pork supply chain to introduce the program and its potential requirements. We are keen to hear producers views and answer any questions.
A webinar will be held on 8 May from 2:00-3:00pm AEST, and a written online survey will be available for producers to share their opinions. If you would like to be involved in this consultation process, please contact APL’s Andrew Robertson via firstname.lastname@example.org or (02) 6270 8888 to express your interest.
For more information on the proposed scheme, please review the background brief on the Ractopamine-free Supply Chain Management Plan and its supplementary Hazards and Controls attachment prior to the consultations on 8 May.
We will continue to provide updates on the consultation process via APL communications.
