Climate Solutions Fund offers low-cost finance

The Climate Solutions Fund is an Australian Government initiative that offers landholders and businesses the opportunity to run new projects that reduce or remove greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere. Project owners can earn Australian Carbon Credit Units (carbon credits), which can be sold to the Australian Government or to the rapidly emerging private market. Feral pig management coordinator appointed

APL General Manager, Research and Innovation, Dr Heather Channon has been appointed as Australia’s first national feral pig management coordinator. The appointment follows a $1.4 million package which was announced by the Federal Government last year for APL to support a coordinator to tackle Australia’s feral pig population and reduce the risk feral pigs pose to Australia’s biosecurity. Porkstar supports women in hospitality

Women in Hospitality (WOHO) was founded in 2016 and recently (25 Feb) began its interstate expansion with an event in Brisbane. More than 70 people attended the inaugural Queensland event at Baedeker, with plans for continued establishment in that state. PorkStar’s Kylie Roberts attended the event, continuing the programme’s support for WOHO, which supports and fosters career development of women in the hospitality industry. Lorraine Gordon, Program Director and Founder at the Regenerative Agriculture Alliance, recently announce the launch of our series of videos that spread hope for a resilient farming future. The videos include one-on-one interviews with Charles Massy, Bruce Pascoe, Terry McCosker, Kerry Cochrane, Tammi Jonas, Tim Wright,  Derek Smith, Michael Taylor, and Helen and Mike McCosker. Australian ham and bacon campaign rolls out in SA

A new advertising trial will start in Adelaide on Monday night [10 February]. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the fact that the majority of the ham and bacon sold in Australia is made from imported pork. The campaign will also help consumers identify products made from Aussie pork.
